Harvard 2+2 Application Process

Are you eligible?

To be considered for admission to the 2+2 Program Class of 2016, you must be graduating from your undergraduate institution between October 1, 2011 and September 30, 2012.

Step 1: Get Prepared

To be considered for admission to the 2+2 Program, you must complete the following:

  • GMAT or GRE taken 7/6/06, or later
  • TOEFL or IELTS taken 7/6/09, or later, if you are an international applicant attending a non-English-speaking undergraduate university

 

Step 2: Decide When to Apply

You have four options:

  • Early Round: Application Deadline - June 2011 (Notification: September 2011)
  • Round 1: Application Deadline - October 2011 (Notification: December 2011)
  • Round 2: Application Deadline - January 2012 (Notification: March 2012)
  • Round 3: Application Deadline - March 2012 (Notification: May 2012)

Note: date for Rounds 1, 2, and 3 are the same as regular MBA Application deadlines.

 

Step 3: Write Your Application

The application for the 2+2 Class of 2016 consists of the following:

  • 4 Essay Responses
  • Current Resumé
  • 2 Recommendations
  • Uploaded or self-reported transcripts from all undergraduate academic institutions attended (full- or part-time)
  • GMAT or GRE scores from a test taken 7/6/06, or later
  • TOEFL or IELTS scores from a test taken 7/6/09, or later (if applicable)
  • Signed HBS Community Values statement
  • Signed Statement of Application Integrity
  • Nonrefundable U.S. $100 application fee (credit card only)

The 2+2 application will be available online the week of April 11, 2011.

Essays:

  • What are your three most substantial accomplishments and why do you view them as such? (600-word limit)
  • What have you learned from a mistake? (400-word limit)
  • Please respond to two of the following (400-word limit each):
    • What would you like the MBA Admissions Board to know about your undergraduate academic experience?
    • What is your career vision and why is this choice meaningful to you?
    • Tell us about a time in your professional experience when you were frustrated or disappointed.
    • When you join the HBS Class of 2013, how will you introduce yourself to your new classmates?

 

Eligibility Criteria:

 

To be considered for admission, an applicant must have successfully completed the following:

  • A degree program at an accredited U.S. four-year undergraduate college/university or its equivalent;
  • Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Examination (GRE) from a test taken January 1, 2006 or later. The GMAT or GRE is a prerequisite for admission;
  • Internet-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL IBT) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score from a test taken January 1, 2009 or later, is required for international applicants who attended a non-English-speaking undergraduate university; and
  • Submission of a complete online application for evaluation by one of the decision round deadlines.
