Try to spin a story that projects a mature, intelligent, focused individual, who is clear about what he wants to achieve in life. The career path should be structured to reflect this and the vision for the future should also be in line

Essay 1
Tell us about your current duties and responsibilities, including references to the total number of people you supervise and/or the amount of assets you manage. Describe one or two of your major accomplishments and explain why they are meaningful to you. Please limit your response to two, double-spaced, typed pages.

The first part is simple enough. This should detail the current role and responsibilities. Try to focus on the most important responsibilities which have a material, direct affect on the organisation. For the second part, the most important thing is to determine what is the most meaningful to you. List down all your major accomplishments, make a laundry list and then assess these in terms of which ones you want to project. And which ones complement your vision and career path better. Be honest and pick the ones which are a combination of these two. Only if you are convinced about your achievements would you be able to spin a convincing story. You will need to be very clear in terms of why these are meaningful to you. Did it involve a lot of hard work, was it against all odds, was it a personal victory which laid to rest some old ghosts, did it involve convincing a determined lot to your stance- think along these lines- to get to something which is impactful and inspiring

Essay 2
What educational and personal objectives do you hope to satisfy through the Sloan Program? What type and level of work do you expect to be engaged in five years from now? Please limit each response to one, double-spaced, typed page.

You must have done an analysis of why Sloan. You can use inputs from your research for this question. Cover both educational, in terms of curriculum, faculty, learning from peers, and personal, in terms of network. This is more of a career vision question. You need to be very clear and precise in terms of what you want to do in life. And believe you will be able to achieve. This should be in line with the educational and personal objectives mentioned in the first para and there needs to be a logical flow to show the candidate’s structured thought process.

Essay 3
Describe a situation that challenged your leadership skills and explain what you learned about your strengths and weaknesses. Please limit your response to two, double-spaced, typed pages.

This is again an introspective question. You need to give a solid example to portray a specific kind of leadership skills- could be motivation, mentoring, taking ownership. You could explain how you achieved 0% attrition that you have mentioned in your recos. A leader needs to be responsible, should take ownership and should be inspiring to his team. Try to bring forth any or two of these points. You can further talk about how you realized you are good at inspiring/ mentoring and how the fact that people look upto you inspires you to put in more.
